Porter Wagoner-J.A.K.E.S. Day is here again, so kids tell your mom and dad.

This event is sponsored by the Little Kanawha Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

This event was host to 65 kids and received national recognition last year. They are hoping for over 100 participants this year.

On August 21, at the Gilmer County Recreation Center, boys and girls 17 and under take part in the day-long event (each participant must be accompanied by an adult).

There will be games, prizes and a lot of fun. Activities include archery, air rifles, shot gun, 22 cal., turkey calling 101, first aid and hunters education.

Only $5 to register (includes a one year JAKES membership), a quarterly magazine, membership card, and a decal.
