Parsons' vehicle went out of control and struck a tree.

He had gone to Charlotte one week ago to seek employment, according to family members, and had found a job a couple days ago.

Parsons is the son of Alvin and Debbie Parsons, who operate the Y Motel at Arnoldsburg. He has one brother, Shawn, of Arnoldsburg.

He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Parsons, who own the Y Mart in Arnoldsburg, and the nephew of Sheriff Allen Parsons.
