THIRD PERSON INDICATED IN $2.5 MILLION CALHOUN POT BUST

(09/04/2014)
The biggest pot bust in Calhoun history happened in 2011, with large cultivated patches growing in the Little Creek area, a few miles from Creston.

State Police in 2011 made two arrests related to the growing, Douglas Cecil Lynch of Creston and Nicholas W. Davis of Big Bend, charging them with manufacturing a controlled substance and conspiring to manufacture a controlled substance.

Lynch and Nicholas were indicted by the May Grand Jury.

The case was turned over to federal officials, but recently the case was back in Calhoun court.

Monday, a Calhoun Grand Jury indicted a third person allegedly connected to the large grow operation, according to Prosecutor Shannon Johnson.

Danny Lockhart, 57, of Little Creek, was indicted on one count of manufacturing a controlled substance, marijuana, a felony.

Lockhart was also indicted on one count of sexual abuse in the first degree, a felony, from an incident occurring in June of 2011.
