Grantsville VFW Post 5959 has placed a Used Flag Drop Box outside the Post Building on Mill Street.

Anyone may drop a worn American flag in the box for proper flag disposal. A ceremony is planned for a future date.

The Post also offers to replace worn American flags in any cemetery where Veterans are buried, place military foot markers in cemeteries at no cost to the family, and set flag poles in cemeteries where Veterans are buried.

For information on these services call VFW Post 5959 at 304-354-6550 or Jim Sturm 304-834-9252.

Grantsville VFW Post 5959 continues their program of setting Flag Poles in cemeteries that was started in 2005.

One of the early ones in 2005 was at the Starcher Cemetery on Henry's Fork. On hand then was Danny Hays, the late Victor Whytsell, Stan Norman, and the late Albert Tanner. See FLAG RAISING DAY ON HENRY'S FORK - VFW Post Honors Soldiers
