FATHER SAYS SKELETAL REMAINS COULD BE HIS DAUGHTER - Investigation Moving Toward Identification

By Bob Weaver Authorities have now obtained the dental records of Christian Dawn Starcher Seabolt, in an effort to confirm the identity of skeletal remains found near Creston, Wirt County, in December. The remains are at the State Medical Examiner's Office. Jesse "Moe" Starcher of Spencer told the Herald Wednesday there are indications the remains could be his daughter, missing since 2002 when she left her mother's apartment in Spencer for a pack of cigarettes. She was 18-years-old. During the past seven years, Starcher has been relentless in trying to find out what happened to his daughter. Starcher says authorities have indicated to him the body is a female, and there are identifying bone spurs known to be a problem for his daughter. "We took Christian to a doctor who said surgery would be needed to correct the bone spur problem," Starcher said. Starcher has continued to express anger that officials will not release the content or allow him to hear a 911 recording he says was made by his daughter before her disappearance. "My attorney and I have had at least four Freedom of Information rejections from Roane County 911 officials and a former Roane County prosecuting attorney. "They won't release the tape because the WV State Police say the case is under active investigation," Starcher said. "I want to hear what she said, and who she ask to talk to. Its been seven years trying to get it," he said. The Herald reported that individuals who knew Seabolt and had been involved with a murder and drug case in Roane County had moved to the Creston area where the body was found.
