A TRIO OF COUPLES CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARIES - Pete and Millie Trippett, Carl and Arleta Sturm, Glendon and Eupha McKee

Carl and Arleta Sturm of Millstone, both 86, are celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary today. Married on April 8, 1939, the couple lived for many years in Wyoming County, working for Consolidated Gas. "I had a Harley Davidson, my only transportation, and we rode to the McKee cellar house where we lived for awhile," said Carl. The Sturms' have a daughter, Judith and her husband William Lambert of Rootstown, Ohio, three grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Rev. Glendon and Eupha Hicks McKee of Mount Zion are also celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary today. "We met while both of us were working at the old Spencer State Hospital," said Eupha. Glendon retired from the United Methodist ministry after more than 50 years service and is a retired Calhoun School teacher. They have two children, Roanna and her husband John Stump of Grantsville, and son Roger and his wife Wilma of Weston. They have six grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Arleta Sturm is Glendon's sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Trippett

Pete and Millie Trippett of Grantsville had a 50th wedding anniversary celebration Saturday at the First Baptist Church. Pete (whose real name is Billy) met Millie, a coal miner's daughter from Logan County, in 1952. Pete was on leave from the U. S. Navy, visiting his sister in Huntington. "I tripped up the stairs and fell down at her feet" while being introduced to her, said Pete. The Trippetts' were married, April 8, 1953. They have four children, Lester of Oregon, Arlu of and her husband Rick Poling of Ravenna, Ohio, David and his wife, Jill of Grantsville, and Heather and her husband Jeremiah Robinson of Tucson, Arizona. There are 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and another on the way.
