WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Gangster Like Shootout

(08/02/2021)
CHARLESTON GANGSTER-LIKE SHOOTOUT - Charleston police are investigating after more than a dozen shots were fired between at least two cars early Sunday morning.

Similar to old-time gangster movies, it happened shortly before 3:00 a.m. in the Spyro's parking lot near the corner of Hale Street and Kanawha Blvd.

Chief of Detectives Lt. Tony Hazelett said a woman was shot in the ankle. She was taken in a personal car to CAMC General hospital where she was treated and later discharged.

Hazelett said "multiple" shots were fired.

The window of the City National Bank building at 10 Hale St. was shot out during the incident.

MAN SHOT - Kanawha County deputies said a man was injured in an overnight shooting in the Jefferson area on Sunday.

The man, a 29-year-old from Dunbar, said he was shot in the leg while walking to a car outside Big Marv’s Café in Jefferson, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies found the man after South Charleston police officers stopped the vehicle for traffic violations about 3:30 a.m. A female driver said she was taking the man to the hospital because he’d been shot.

The man is currently in stable condition. The incident is under investigation.
