BUD GUNN SERVICE SUNDAY AT 1 PM - Merchant, Oil And Gas Producer And Farmer Dies Wednesday

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville for Donald "Bud" Gunn of Mount Zion, who died January 15, 2003, after an extended illness.

Rev. Rick Swearengin and Rev. David Weaver will conduced the service with burial in the Mount Zion Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to a luncheon at the church following commital.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Saturday.

Gunn, 82, was a long-time merchant of operator of the Mount Zion Grocery, oil and gas producer and a farmer and polled hereford breeder. His wife, Vonda Gunn, longtime Democratic Party leader and educator, died a few weeks ago

He was the son of the late Poe P. and Lottie Smith Gunn of Grantsville.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Corps, serving in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and a board member of Calhoun Banks for many years,

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Donald Poe and Sherry Gunn of Mount Zion; a granddaughter, Dayna Gunn of Easton, Md.; a sister, Eloise Divers; and step-grandchildren, Eric Thompson and Kelly Little; and step-great-grandchild, Ryan Little, all of Grantsville. He was was also preceded in death by two brothers, Forest and Dale Gunn.
