Ted James Hewitt, 35 - Reedy

Ted James Hewitt, 35, of Reedy West Virginia, formerly of Parkersburg passed away December 15, 2015 at Orlando East Hospital in Florida, after a long courageous battle of cancer.

He was born October 21, 1980, the son of Larry and Dawn Hewitt of Walker, West Virginia. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during Operation Iraqi Freedom where he earned his Combat Action Ribbon. Most recently he was an employee of Jackson General Hospital, where he was a physical therapy assistant. He was a devoted husband and an amazing father to his 3 kids. He enjoyed cooking, golfing, and making everyone around him smile.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Golden Hewitt; a son, Brock Hewitt; and daughters, Bria and Brissa Hewitt all at home; sisters, Kristi (Billy) Cottrill of Parkersburg, West Virginia; Kimmy (Charlie) Thomas of Buford, Georgia; Chelsi Hewitt of Parkersburg; and Toni Hewitt of Parkersburg; and his grandparents, Dave and Vonda Miller of Parkersburg.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Riley and Evelyn Hewitt of Walker.

Funeral service will be Monday, December 21,2015, at 1pm at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia with Bill Walton officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery near Reedy.

Visiting hours are Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ted Hewitt Memorial Fund, c/o Premier Bank, 303 Main Street, Spencer, WV 25276 for his children's education.
