CALHOUN HISTORICAL SOCIETY SPONSORING FREEDOM FLAG PROJECT - Application Deadline Oct. 1

(09/26/2015)

Flags will be proudly displayed the weeks of
Veteran's Day, Memorial Day., and the 4th of July

Note: Application deadline is October 1st.

The Calhoun County Historical Society is sponsoring a patriotic project entitled Freedom Flags. The Freedom Flag Project has been designed to serve as a reminder of our community's proud military history, specifically what families, having local connections, have contributed unselfishly to our nation's freedom and liberties.

This project will be a visual display of our community's sincere admiration for those men and women that have served or are currently serving in the United States Military.

Each 20"x40" banner will proudly honor the individual, by listing the individual's name, branch of service, and a photo image. It will also include the sponsor's name at the bottom. Military photos are preferred and must be in good taste.

The flags are made of oil cloth and have a laminate coating to prevent wear and fading.

The flags will be proudly displayed on Mill Street behind the Stump Hotel, the weeks of Veteran's Day, Memorial Day., and the 4th of July.

Price of the flags is $70.00 each. If you are interested in honoring a member of your family complete the printable application/order form (below) with a 8x10 photo of the serviceman and a check made out to the Calhoun County Historical Society.

The application can be mailed to Freedom Flag Project, 123 Johnson St. Grantsville, WV 26147 or dropped off at the History Center any Friday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Applications will be accepted until October 1st.
