Robert Edward Bauer ~ 1982~2015
The chief of the Reedy Fire Department, Robert Edward Bauer, 32, has died after suffering from cancer.
Bauer was a paramedic with the Roane County Emergency Medical Service, WVU-P graduating class of 2008 at WVU-P, the Roane County coordinator for C.E.R.T. (Citizens Emergency Response Team) and a R.E.S.A. 5 fire instructor.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Richard McKenzie officiating.
Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery, Reedy. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be members of the Reedy VFD, Matthew Paxton, Donald Husk, Andrew McKenzie, Randy Sommerville, Joshua Hand and Daniel Goodwin; Roane County EMS members, Danny Cronin and Jon Bremer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Robert E. Bauer Fund, c/o Poca Valley Bank, 1 Black Walnut Avenue, Spencer, WV 25276 to help with medical and other expenses.
