Robert Edward Bauer, 32 - Reedy

Robert Edward Bauer, 32, of Reedy, West Virginia, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at home.

He was born March 22, 1982, in Mt. Vernon, Washington, a son of Ronald E. Bauer of Reedy and the late Katherine A. Hackworth Bauer.

Robert was a paramedic, who was employed by the Roane County Emergency Medical Service in Spencer, West Virginia. He was also the Chief of the Reedy Volunteer Fire Department, Reedy.

He was a member of the Roane County High School graduating Class of 2000 and the WVU-P graduating Class of 2008. Also, he was the Roane County coordinator for C.E.R.T. (Citizens Emergency Response Team) and a R.E.S.A. 5 fire instructor.

In addition to his father, survivors include his wife, Christina L. Andrews Bauer; two children, Katelyn N. Bauer and Robert A. Bauer both at home; brothers, Bill Adams, Roger Adams, Claude William Bauer, Ronald E. Bauer II, Timothy Bauer and Donald Bauer; 22 nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Richard McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in the Good Hope Cemetery, Reedy. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be members of the Reedy VFD, Matthew Paxton, Donald Husk, Andrew McKenzie, Randy Sommerville, Joshua Hand and Daniel Goodwin; Roane County EMS members, Danny Cronin and Jon Bremer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Robert E. Bauer Fund, c/o Poca Valley Bank, 1 Black Walnut Avenue, Spencer, WV 25276 to help with medical and other expenses.
