CALHOUN GRAND JURY MAKES NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE INDICTMENT - Five Other Indictments Issued

A Calhoun Grand Jury indicted six individuals this week in Grantsville, according to prosecutor Shannon Johnson.

Randall Luke Baker, 19, was indicted for negligent homicide, a misdemeanor; reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, a misdemeanor; fleeing from an officer, a misdemeanor; and failure to maintain control, a misdemeanor.

Baker's charges stem from a vehicle accident occurring on February 27, 2014 in Grantsville, which severely injured Michael Cunningham, Sr., and claimed the life of his wife, Tammy Jean Cunningham. This case was investigated by First Sgt. O.S. Starsick.

Gary Lee Ackley, 29, was indicted on two counts of grand larceny, both felonies; two counts of transfer of stolen goods, both felonies; and trespassing, a misdemeanor.

Grantsville Chief Andrew Walker, after an investigation, charged Ackley with crimes involving a stolen four wheeler and an aluminum topper which were reported missing from Dominion Transmission, Inc. in June, 2014.

Prosecutor Johnson said Ackey was also indicted for driving under the influence, third or subsequent offense, a felony; fleeing while driving under the influence, a felony; and driving revoked for DUI, a misdemeanor.

Ackley was charged with these offenses following a pursuit by Senior Trooper Varner. The pursuit began in Gilmer County and ended on Bull River Road in Calhoun County in October, 2014.

POLICE ARREST GARY ACKLEY FOR GRAND LARCENY, DOMESTIC BATTERY, DUI-3RD AND OTHER CHARGES

Orville Jack Doolittle, 56, was indicted on thirty three counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian, a felony; and thirty three counts of incest, a felony. Mr. Doolittle allegedly had a sexual relationship from November 2001 to November 2005 with two female victims. This case was investigated by Corporal Summers of the West Virginia State Police.

David Lee Carpenter, 56, and Jeffrey Allen Radabaugh, 53, were indicted for possession with intent to deliver and delivery of a controlled substance, a felony; and conspiracy, a felony.

This incident allegedly occurred on April 24, 2014 and was investigated by Chief Andrew Walker of the Grantsville Police Department.

Charles Norman, 31, was indicted for one count of operating and attempt to operate a clandestine drug laboratory, a felony; and one count of purchase, receipt, acquisition, and possession of substances to be used as a precursor to manufacture methamphetamine or another controlled substance, a felony; and conspiracy, a felony. This case was investigated by Chief Andrew Walker of the Grantsville Police Department and allegedly occurred May, 2014.

Indictments returned against individuals are merely charges at this time and are not indications of guilt. All the above defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
