MINNIE HAMILTON OFFERS HELP WITH HEALTH INSURANCE MARKETPLACE QUESTIONS

(11/20/2014)
Do you need health insurance for you or your family? The Health Insurance Marketplace is the place for you. Low-cost plans are available so you can find a plan that meets your needs and budget.

Minnie Hamilton Health System is prepared to assist uninsured citizens (under 65) with the enrollment process for both the enhanced Medicaid program and the WV Health Insurance Marketplace. Free, in-person help is available to find a plan that is right for you. Health insurance now covers doctor visits, prescriptions, hospital stays and preventive care.

When you don't have health insurance, it's a gamble every day that you won't get sick or injured. If something happens, medical bills add up fast. Even one trip to the emergency room can cost thousands. Take the time to find the right plan so you and your family are protected.

This year's open enrollment period is from November 15, 2014 to February 15, 2015. Anyone that needs to sign up for insurance will need to do so during these dates.

If you already have health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace, it's time to review your plan and decide if you want to make changes for 2015. You can choose to stay in your current plan (if it's still offered) or change to a different plan.

Insurance companies can change a plan's premiums, cost-sharing, and the benefits and services they cover each year. Every fall, your health insurance company sends you a notice explaining these changes. It's important to review your plan's 2015 health coverage to make sure it still meets your needs.

As Open Enrollment starts Saturday, November 15, 2014, appointments will be available at Minnie Hamilton Health System in Grantsville.
