FUNERALS SET FOR TWO GLENVILLE WOMEN - Died In Tragic Head-On Rt. 5 Collision

(08/09/2014)
Two Glenville women died Wednesday evening in what State Police say was a head-on collision on State Route 5, between Glenville and Sand Fork.

Police say the drivers were traveling in opposite directions when they collided.

Witnesses at the scene told Corporal M.S. Summers that a SUV traveling east, driven by Brenda Darlene Stump, 49, of Glenville, crossed the center line and struck an SUV traveling west, driven by Misty Lei Tomblin, 34, of Glenville.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Cpl. Summers said Stump was not wearing a seat belt, while Tomblin was wearing a belt.

State Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash although toxicology reports are pending.

Funeral services for Tomblin are set for Monday at 11 a.m. at the Ellyson Mortuary in Glenville.
