HELP IS ON THE WAY - FCC Launches Rural Broadband Experiments

(07/18/2014)
With West Virginia near the bottom in the US with broadband Internet speeds, and the nation falling behind the developed world, more help is on the way.

The FCC just allocated $100 million for experiments to explore how robust broadband can be expanded at lower cost in rural America.

The agency's broader effort to expand rural broadband has been through its ConnectAmerica Fund.

The FCC is saying their efforts will help ensure that consumers everywhere can benefit from the sweeping technological advances occurring now in the communications industry.

Up to $100 million will be available for the experiments which will be contracted to communications outfits.
