SPENCER HOUSING AUTHORITY GETS $133,000 GRANT

The Housing Authority of the City of Spencer will receive $133,797 from an $8 million housing grant issued for improvements through the Public Housing Capital Fund Program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Capital Fund Program provides annual funds to Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) for the development, financing, and modernization of public housing developments and for management improvements. The modernization of public housing projects may include replacing obsolete utility systems with new technology and equipment, establishing computer centers in and around public housing facilities through Neighborhood Networks initiatives and addressing maintenance needs.
