Water over Henry's Fork Road in numerous places Thursday night

Calhoun was spared from a major storm that quickly dumped three inches of rain on Roane County, but Henry's Fork, a stream that originates in Roane brought floodwater down the valley to the lower West Fork of the Little Kanawha.

Roads were closed Thursday night along Pink Road and Henry's Fork Road, and water was covering the lower Alitzer Road between Rocksdale and Richardson.

Power outages reported Thursday night from downed trees in regional counties: Calhoun 183; Roane 141; Braxton 331; Gilmer 252, Ritchiue 566 and Wirt 507.
