A St. Marys man is in jail, charged with attempted murder.

Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says 35-year-old Michael Good is charged with attempted murder in Newport OH. Good is accused of shooting 24-year-old Parkersburg resident Richard Carter in the shoulder blade and face.

Sheriff Mincks says Carter's wife was dating Good.

Good shot the victim while he was fishing.

Carter was flown by helicopter to Charleston Area Medical Center, where he's in critical condition with non-life threatening injuries.
