WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Murder-Suicide Not Random Act, Man Discharges Gun In Parking Lot

MURDER-SUICIDE NOT RANDOM ACT - Charleston Police are saying a murder-suicide that took place Sunday was premeditated, not a random act of violence.

Michael Cassel, 36, was gunned down in his own home by Patrick Price, 34, who forced his way into the residence, then killed himself.

"The suspect in this case specifically targeted the victim for what we believe to be a specific purpose," according to a Charleston officer.

The victim and Price were acquainted.

FIRING GUN IN PARKING LOT - A Charleston man is in jail after police say he fired a loaded gun in a business parking lot.

Police arrested David Nearhoof after he fired a gun at Tire Land in South Charleston.

According to the criminal complaint, when police approached Nearhoof, he took off running.

Police say they quickly caught Nearhoof and found a gun in his front jean pocket.

Nearhoof has been charged with carrying a deadly weapon, fleeing on foot and shooting across a roadway.

MAN ROBS TWO STORES - A Raleigh County man faces multiple charges after deputies said he robbed two stores, fled the scene and crashed a vehicle into a deputy's vehicle and a building.

Carlos Burnside, 36, of Beaver was arrested following robberies that occurred Sunday evening at the One Stop on Harper Road and the Beaver Little General Store, according to a news release from the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office.

Burnside was charged with grand larceny and two counts of armed robbery.

MAN THREATENS TO KILL PEOPLE - A Randolph County man was arrested over the weekend after police said he allegedly threatened to kill several people with a knife at Roxie's Tattoo Parlor in Elkins.

Police say 27-year-old Cody Harris supposedly threatened five people because one of the individuals wouldn't pay him back.
