 Funeral services are set Sunday at 2 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home in Spencer for 23-year-old Jeremy Shane Smith, 23 (pictured right) of Newton, who was shot to death Wednesday.
Smith was a pipe line construction worker, a 2006 graduate of Roane County High School and a member of the Newton Baptist Church.
Authorities have arrested Adam Scott Lytle, 29. The men were at a party at a house near Newton when the shooting took place early Tuesday morning.
State Police say that Smith and Lytle were sitting on a couch together when Lytle picked up a shotgun and shot Smith twice.
