Welcome back to Beason. I am so sorry that I got behind keeping you updated on the latest Beason News. I will try to do better. I am sure baseball season will arrive and I will procrastinate again. Hey, at least I am honest.

I am furthering my education at the Artisan School of Cosmetology in Parkersburg. I am learning so much and my graduation is right around the corner. I am hoping my big day will occur sometime in April. I am planning to return to Ritchie County to work as a stylist rather than a nail technician. I feel I have learned some amazing hair techniques and a lot of tricks for color.

If anyone knows me very well, they know I am insane about hair color. I am excited to bring my education to Ritchie County. I appreciate all the people who have supported me through this decision to go back to school. Your support has meant so much to me.

Currently, our school is doing Glamour Photography to raise funds for a trip to NYC to the International Beauty Show. We are hoping to further our education by being exposed to various stylists, classes, tools, designers, etc. of today. If you are interested in the glamour photography, a regular hair appointment or interested in becoming a student, please contact me or give the school a call at (304) 834-3600.

Ethan has joined the Ritchie County Rebel Wrestling team this year. He has done very well and continues to practice hard. I am so proud of all the hard work he has put into this sport. He has done amazingly well for not being on the mat in 9 or so years. I am super proud of all the kids on the team. Coach Davis is a great coach and demands more from them than just practice. He demands respect and responsibility and things that help the kids remain good kids. I am so glad Ethan is a part of the team.

Avery is looking forward to baseball season. Baseball is what keeps him going through the winter months. He would much rather be outside pitching baseballs. He and I both are going to be working on our weight as well as our exercise. We need to be ready for this stuff! He and I won't be able to make it to first base if we keep going the way we are. So, changing our habits will definitely be on our list of priorities.

Winter has arrived on Beason, that's for sure. We have been up to our eyeballs in ice for a couple weeks now. I really try not to be a complainer, but, our road really needs help once in awhile. We've already managed to wreck cars and miss school because of our road. I think it's totally unnecessary after a period of time. When the last storm arrived, I wasn't irritated about it because I know they needed a lot of time to clear roads. But, after a week has gone by, I think they've had time to come out our road at least once.

Don't we have some North Central Regional Hotel guests that could be doing something other than sucking up my tax money? I pay entirely too much tax as it is. I believe they could actually do something for me once in awhile. So, if someone could maybe throw some gravel, dirt, salt, or something that would be really great. Our residents would appreciate it very much.

We've had a few conflicts of interest on Beason, but, we overlook it and go on. We don't have the desire or time to waste on that kind of stuff. So, my advice is, just save it.

I am looking forward to spring and the many blooms along Beason. Winter does annoy me, but, I have to admit, the hills and the land are beautiful no matter what season it is.

I am ending my article with a quote. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. "Winter was nothing but a season of snow; spring, allergies; and summer...It was the worst. That was swimsuit season." ― Teresa Lo, Realities: a Collection of Short Stories
