Carol McCallister Campbell, 71, of Parkersburg

Carol McCallister Campbell, 71, of Parkersburg, passed away July 22, 2011, at the Arbors of Marietta.

She was born July 15, 1940, in Sweetland, W.Va., a daughter of the late Okey Lee and Rose Lea Hager McCallister.

Carol graduated from Calhoun High School with the class of 1957. She was a legal secretary and court reporter for several years with the 5th Judicial Circuit serving Calhoun, Roane and Jackson counties in West Virginia.

Carol was always active in her community. She was a Girl Scout leader for several years, was active in civic organizations and was a school volunteer.

She was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church and was a member of the Grantsville Chapter O.E.S. and Past Worthy Matron. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, caring wife, close sister and good friend.

Carol is survived by her husband, Gary L. Campbell; two daughters, Marcia Campbell (Joe) of Parkersburg and Dana Hubbard (David) of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Scott Campbell and Alex and Erin Hubbard; one sister, Margaret Smith of Beckley, W.Va.; and two brothers, Larry McCallister of Parkersburg and Bob McCallister of Shady Springs, W.Va.

Funeral services for Carol will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Joe Busch officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Eastern Star services will be 7:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
