DENMARK CASE TAKING NEW TURN - Forensic Evidence Bolstering Prosecution

The case against William Seth Denmark is taking some new turns. The case centers on testimony given by an eyewitness that he murdered young David Beach and buried him in a grave on the Denmark farm near Arnoldsburg. The case has been bogged-down because authorities have not found a body, a body which they believe was moved from a grave where witness Veronica Cottrill testified she saw Beach buried after he was shot by Denmark. Calhoun Prosecutor Rocky Holmes recently told the Hur Herald that, "We have a positive forensic report from the Smithsonian Institution," after investigators sent dirt and debris from the so-called empty grave for examination. The Times Record-Roane County Reporter said last week that, "A source familiar with the investigation who did not want to be identified said the expert who compiled the report could testify there had been a body in the hole." Charges against Seth Denmark's parents related to their alleged participation in the crime and other alleged crimes committed by Seth Denmark have been dropped, with authorities saying those charges could be refiled.
