109 YEAR OLD GILMER WOMAN DIES

A 109-year-old Gilmer County woman Alpha Coberly Miles Osborn has died.

She was born in Gilmer County a daughter of the late Daniel L. and Ella Jane Rhoades Coberly.

Her early years were spent in Gilmer County where she then married, moved to Akron, worked and retired from Firestone Rubber Company. She attended Akron Baptist Temple for numerous years.

She was an avid photographer and crafter and loved to travel. Her first husband, Edward Miles, fought in World War I. She had one of the oldest surviving WWI widows in the USA.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 2nd, 2011 at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville with Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Grove Cemetery at Linn.

Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the Mortuary.
