STATE POLICE REVIEWING EVIDENCE IN ARNOLDSBURG BANK ROBBERY - One-Day "Saturation Patrol" Comes To County

The WV State Police in Grantsville continue to work on identifying the man who robbed the Calhoun Bank in Arnoldsburg on Sept. 13, according to detachment commander Sgt. O. S. Starsick.

"We have cleared another suspect, and are focusing on gathering evidence regarding another suspect," Starsick said.

"Surveillance footage of the bank robber is currently being analyzed by the lab in Charleston," he said.

Starsick said while Tuesday's effort was directed toward drug eradication, numbers of other issues were dealt with.

"A number of warnings were issued, but no arrests have yet been made," he said.

Arrests for marijuana have been made connected to earlier fly-overs.

SEARCH WARRANT ISSUED IN BANK ROBBERY CASE

State Police completed a search warrant on property associated with a suspect in the bank robbery.

"While we were hoping for more, the search revealed about what we expected," he said, further indicating, "We do have a strong suspect," Starsick said earlier.

Starsick said police have been wading through several leads provided by Calhoun citizens, and several have been eliminated.

The officer said that one or more suspects had been given a polygraph test.

"We still want to talk with anyone who has information or clues," he said.

The male entered the Arnoldsburg bank and threatened employees with a knife, getting away with an undisclosed amount of money on an ATV, which has yet to be recovered.
