The fourth 2009-2010 Saturday Fun and Learning Day sponsored by Heads Up and GEAR UP was held Saturday, May 8th at Calhoun Middle-High School with breakfast and lunch served to all participants.

The day had a bicycle safety theme. Richard Kirby spoke to the parents about how to select the proper bicycle for their child. Each child attending received a bicycle helmet through the PEDAL Power (Physical Enrichment Daily And for Life) and Heads Up projects.

Brooklyn Harris and Matthew Boothe each won a bicycle at the event

The children also created a Mother's Day and Father's Day gift for their parents. The parents and children then worked on scrapbooks of the pictures taken at each of the Saturday Fun Days.

Winners of items donated by Melba Jean Miller were: Terry Allen - perfume; Carla Sidwell - cell phone case; Stacy Harris - toss and chop; Louise Fowler - printer; and Martha Vandal - travel bag. The following parents winning $25 gift certificates from the Mt. Zion Pit Stop donated by Heads Up were: Trevia Fulks, Donna Nichols, Miranda Westfall and Kelly Whytsell.

This was the last Saturday Fun Day for the year, but the approximately 400 people participating will be traveling to King's Island on Saturday, May 22nd.
