Eunice Ann Hess, 89 - Spencer

Eunice Ann Hess, 89, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, in the Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness.

She was born May 22, 1920, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Lewis J. and Eunice Ann Coon Carpenter. Mrs. Hess was a homemaker and mother, a former employee of Kellwood Company and Spencer Hospital. She was a babysitter for several area families for many years.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen Sue and Danny Jarvis of Spencer; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Cyrus of Nicut; two great granddaughters, Samantha and Jessica Moles; two great-great grandchildren, Landon Andrew Miller and Kylie Caudill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Nina JoAnn and Wilda, and several brothers and sisters.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Per her request, her body has been cremated. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the family of Eunice Ann Hess, c/o John H. Taylor Funeral Home, P.O. Box 41, Spencer, WV 25276.
