CALHOUN HISTORY CENTER NEAR COMPLETION - Calhoun History Book Orders Ready For Pick-Up This Week

The Center (left) is adjacent the historic Stump Hotel; the society will be using old display cases and furnishings once used in the county courthouse The Calhoun Historical Society's Family History Center is shaping up, with work on the interior of the building on Grantsville's Main Street nearly completed. The building has a new floor, walls, ceiling and lighting, complementing three separate rooms, a main display room, an archival room and a small kitchen. Hundreds of volunteer hours have brought the project along. The Historical Society has received its first shipment of history books and all advanced orders have been shipped or are ready for pickup. The Family History Center will be open Wednesday March 31 from 1-5 p.m. and Thursday April 1 from 10 a.m. to noon for those who need to pick up their pre-ordered book. Additional books will hopefully be available by mid-June.
