police say he shot a man on County Route 1 in Turnertown, near Brooks Body Shop.

King allegedly shot a man and then fled in a white Chevy truck. Police caught up to that truck, with a woman driving. King was in the passenger seat, and was taken into custody.

the shooting happened at the end of a day-long verbal altercation.

King's ex-girlfriend says that earlier in the day, King threatened to kill everyone at her house and burn it down.

She alleges that he pointed a pistol at her, and fired it all around her and others who were in the house.

GOOD SAMARITAN HAS PROBLEMS - A Charleston man trying to be a good Samaritan got a gun in his face.

Lt. Bryan Stover of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said the 18-year-old robbery victim was driving outside Charleston city limits at 11:20 p.m. when he saw a man lying on the side of the road.

When he stopped to see if he could help, Stover said the prostrate robber jumped up, pointed a gun at him and demanded all his money.

The robber took cash and fled.

WEBSTER MAN STABS GIRLFRIEND - A Webster County man is in jail after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend in the head.

Authorities discovered Laura Straniak, 27, at a neighbor's home, with a stab wound to her head.

Straniak was taken to Webster County Memorial Hospital before being flown to Charleston Area Medical Center where she is in intensive care.

Police found her live-in boyfriend Joe Garvin, 37, in the woods and arrested him.

He had self-inflicted cuts to his wrists, officials say.
