Went to John's Chloe Hardware Tuesday for supplies for the oncoming storm. John had been shoveling snow piled up from the road crews since daylight. He did a good job. I bought lamp oil thinking the electric was going to be off due to the ice storm warnings. I'm so thankful for all these store owners here on the West Fork for being there for us.

The State Road trucks were out in force this past Tuesday. I've never seen anything like it. My friend and I went walking up Walker and a car stopped and wanted to know if we needed a ride. We explained we were just going for a walk. No maintenance had been done and it was beautiful.

Travel was limited on these secondary roads. Then a truck stopped to give us a ride. How nice. After that Jerry Jones stopped his truck and got out to talk in the middle of the road for awhile. Jerry said that the hogs he raised here was good and that he and his family eat it everyday. His wife and children are doing well. It was a peaceful walk and the air was so good to breathe.

My microwave quit on me. I wasn't in a panic but they're good to warm things up. Thanks to Charles Haverty for having one stored in the cellar top. He brought it down and it works for me. Charlie is a good neighbor.

Went to Spencer Thursday. After taking care of errands we went to the Pizza Hut before shopping in WalMart. After eating the car wouldn't start. Blaine called a wrecker out of Grantsville. Two individuals tried to help us with a jump and it didn't work. Everyone we talked to said they thought it was the starter. Finally the wrecker came and gave us a jump with heavy duty cables plus he had a bigger engine and thankfully the car started. We proceeded to WalMart. Blaine stayed with the car running while I shopped and then I was in the car while he went in. We drove directly to Advanced Auto and they put a new battery in for Blaine and everything worked fine. It was a long tiring trip but we were patient and got everything we went for and more. New battery.

Blaine's has been staying at the Chenowith farm on Nicut. He keeps the heat on and has replaced water lines. He also is close to the horses, barn chickens and cats. Bless his heart.

Chickens are back in the hog house. It's just something else how they sense bad weather coming. They're looking good.

Everyone have a wonderful week!
