Boyd Sampson, 61, of Spencer, WV died december 2, 2001 at Charleston Area Medical
Center's General Division.
He was born april 19, 1940 in Calhoun County, WV a son of the late Orval Brown "Joe" and
Beulah Louise "Bood" Kelley Sampson. He was a disabled saw mill worker and a farmer.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Shamblin of Charleston, WV; four sons, Rick and Danny
Sampson both of Spencer, Tom Sampson of Looneyville, WV and Robert Sampson of
Ravenswood, WV; a brother, Edwin Eugene Sampson of Spencer; fourteen grandchildren and
five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Sampson and a sister, Barbara Sampson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2001 at the Taylor-Vandale
Funeral Home, Spencer with Reverend Leon Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Gibson
Cemetery, Arnoldsburg, WV. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, December 5 at the
funeral home.
