BRAXTON ASSISTANT PROSECUTOR FACING SECOND CHARGE

(04/05/2008)
Braxton County's assistant prosecutor is facing additional charges after he was arrested for domestic assault on his former wife.

Daniel Dotson, 43, of Camden on Gauley, has a misdemeanor charge filed in Nicholas County Magistrate Court.

An arrest warrant filed on March 23 by Deputy Sheriff Bobby Holdren, says Dotson allegedly caused damage by physically striking a vehicle owned by Jason Rogers of Craigsville.

Dotson has posted a $1,000 bond for the destruction of property charge.

The assistant prosecutor is also facing a domestic assault for a March 22 incident involving his former wife.

He is accused of shouting obscenities at his former wife, Kristina Dotson, and hitting her vehicle with his fists while she was at the Craigsville U-Save.

The current Braxton prosecuting attorney initially told media that Dotson would no longer be with his office, but since that time it appears he is still employed and processing special cases.

It is believed that the two incidents are not related.
