MAN FIRES AT STATE POLICEMAN - Two men were arrested over the weekend after allegedly firing gunshots at a West Virginia State Police trooper.

The trooper was at an Elkview residence Saturday night when he saw Bruce Casto of Charleston and Dustin Viars, outside with flashlights, according to Sgt. Kenneth McCord.

The report said as the trooper drove toward the residence, he said he heard three or four gunshots. None of the shots hit the trooper or his vehicle.

The trooper followed the men, who left the scene in an SUV. He stopped their vehicle and found a pistol and rifle.

Police said Casto and Viars admitted to firing the shots, claiming they didn't know it was an officer.

Casto has been charged with brandishing a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a residence and transporting an uncased firearm. Viars is charged with being an accessory to all three charges.

ST. ALBANS BANK ROBBED - Police are searching for a man who robbed the City National Bank in St. Albans at 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Dispatchers say the suspect was wearing a tan shirt and tan ball cap -and headed west after leaving the bank.

HOT DOG STAND HELD-UP - Dispatchers say the Sam's Hot Dog Stand in Malden was robbed.

According to dispatchers, a man with a gun wearing an orange ski mask and blue jacket walked up to a worker and demanded cash.

We're told the suspect cleared out the register and got away in a green Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Police are currently looking for the suspect.
