"LOCKER BUDDIES" HAVE BEEN GENEROUS - Arnoldsburg Elementary Fundraising Appeal Continues

Arnoldsburg School has been raising money for new lockers. Some of our fundraising efforts have included selling candy and asking for donations.

The fundraising company we used for the candy sponsored a "Win Your Fundraiser" contest. We had to send in a letter explaining why we deserve to win all the money from our candy fundraiser.

They also encouraged us to send in a video. We sent in the letter and the Gifted and Talented classes made the video to send.

Last week, the fundraiser company, Reader's Digest Efundraising, called Mrs. Dotti to tell us we had won. That meant an extra $2130 will be added to our efforts, bringing our total to approximately $13,600! All this was done in nine weeks.

Current lockers are 'hand-me-downs' from another school and are in serious disrepair. Arnoldsburg School PTO purchased enough lockers for the second grade. The school would like each student to have a new locker. A set of six lockers cost approximately $600.

We want to thank the following persons, organizations, and businesses that contributed to our Locker Fund and are "Arnoldsburg School's Locker Buddies."

Dependable Oil & Pipe; Jim Sullivan; Joy and Marvin Starcher; Grantsville Lion's Club; Hardman's; Jake & Cindy Boggs & Katie Siers; Lawrence Jarvis; Arnold & Alice Mace for Seth Moore; Minnie Hamilton Health System; Uncle Mick; Lee & Phyllis Evans; Jack Garrett Ford; Staats Pharmacy; Calhoun Chronicle; Chip & Janice Westfall; Nan & Grampster Ferrell; Calhoun Banks; Shelley's Boutique; B. Miller Excavating; Target Stores; Emily Keaton & Family; WalMart; Anonymous (2)

We are very grateful for the donations of these Locker Buddies and would encourage everyone to support the businesses, vote for the candidates, or just thank them for contributing to our fundraiser.

If you would like to help us raise the last $2400, send a donation to Arnoldsburg School, PO Box 159, Arnoldsburg, WV 25234. Please send it to the attention of Dotti Nemitz, and mark the check "Lockers."

We will include the names on our Locker Buddy list which will be distributed to every household in Arnoldsburg, published in the Calhoun Chronicle, in the Hur Herald, and on radio station WVRC.

We are very proud of our school. Our test scores are tremendous, and our students and staff work very hard. They deserve to have lockers that function properly.
