WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - One Dead, One Injured In Morgantown Shootings

SHOOTINGS ROCK MORGANTOWN - Early morning shootings Saturday killed one person and wounded another at a private Morgantown apartment.

Lots of gunfire reported.

The shooting happened in a complex where West Virginia University students live.

University police said neither of the victims were WVU students.

The Monongalia County Sheriff's office says 25-year-old Luis Page, of Martinsburg, was shot to death while 27-year-old Jamar Fortt, of Philadelphia, was wounded.

Police said it was "a bad blood situation."

Deputies responded at 4:30 a.m. Saturday to reports of gunshots being fired at "The District," a sprawling apartment complex north of WVU's Evansdale Campus.

In all there are 280 apartments and 924 beds in the complex.

Detective Wally Fumich says police have questioned five people who were at the housing complex "who had knowledge of the incident."

One of the people questioned has been charged with forgery after providing false information to police.

Antione Lawton of New York, N.Y. is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.

At WVU, the university utilized its new alert system and sent out a text message to students telling them about the shooting.

HUNTINGTON BAR FIGHTS AND GUNSHOTS - A man was arrested and charged after several bar fights lead to gunshots. Joe Jermaine Porter was charged with a misdemeanor and malicious wounding after he allegedly shot a man in the leg in an alley behind Chubby's.

He was taken to St. Marys Hospital.

ARMED HOLDUP IN HARRISON - Harrison County Sheriff's Department Detectives are looking for a suspect they believe robbed a local gas station.

Deputies say a man went into the Rich Oil Gas Station in Salem and robbed the clerk at gun point Saturday night.

The clerk wasn't hurt, but the suspect did get away with an undetermined amount of money.
