The Calhoun County 4-H Teen Leaders Club is a special interest club for older 4-H members. Membership is open to anyone in 7th grade or above. Along with the traditional 4-H four-fold development of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, one of the main tenants of this club is to provide opportunities to build leadership skills in the course of regular 4-H activities. The club members provide leadership services at county wide 4-H events such as the Halloween party, 4-H Up All Night, and county 4-H Camp.

Another component of traditional 4-H club work is community service and this year the 4-H Teen Leaders chose the CRI Angel Tree as their project. The group met on Sunday, December 11 at the Community Resources Building in Grantsville to wrap presents for the angel tree. With 104 angels on the tree, often times gifts are purchased and delivered to CRI but may not be wrapped. The teen leaders wrap these gifts so that each angel on the tree will have the pleasure of tearing the wrapping paper open on their Christmas presents.

Leaders Kelley Houchin and Diana Shook expressed their appreciation for the members that participated in this service project. They said, "These members are extremely active with school, sports, and community activities and we appreciate the time they give to 4-H and their community through this project.

Calhoun 4-H Teen Leaders meet on the 1st Monday of each month in the Life Skills Room during lunch at Calhoun High School.
