SPENCER VENEER WORKERS INJURED

(11/10/2005)
Two Spencer Veneer workers were injured in two separate accidents within 30 minutes yesterday. Both were taken to Roane General Hospital by the Roane County Emergency Squad.

A press release from Spencer Veneer management says the first incident involved an associate getting their wrist pinched using a pry bar while working in the sawmill.

"The associate was treated and released...and plans to return to work on November 14th," said the release.

The second incident involved "an associate and a electrical flash."

That worker was treated, released and returned to work, said the company.

Spencer Veneer has been the site of numerous safety problems and at least one death.
