SENATOR BOLEY CELEBRATING 20 YEARS

(05/12/2005)
Donna Boley is celebrating 20 years in the West Virginia Senate. She formerly served Calhoun County.

When appointed to fulfill an unexpired term, Republican state Senator Boley of Pleasants County thought her time in state government would probably only last 16 months.

That was 20 years ago this week.

Boley believes her biggest accomplishment during her tenure is seeing the Office of Debt Management approved.

She says getting monthly reports on what the state owes is very helpful to state officials.

One of Boley's priorities now is keeping juvenile offenders in West Virginia instead of sending them to out-of-state facilities. She has been a long-time supporter of maintaining rural communities.
