NEW BRIDGE RESTRICTIONS ON RT. 47 - Freeport Bridge Will Be Replaced, Calhoun Repaving Project

New restrictions have been placed on a Route 47 bridge in Wirt County at Freeport. Besides restrictions on various types of trucks, the bridge across Goose Creek now limits trucks and buses to one at a time. A contract has been let for $1,708,000 to replace the Freeport bridge. Some restrictions have been lessened on a bridge on Rt. 14 across Reedy Creek in Roane County. A $190,000 contract has been let for paving on a stretch between Grantsville-Henrietta on Rt. 5. A $600,000 contract has been let for road striping for seven counties, including Calhoun.
