TRUCK IMPACT MOVES ELECTRIC POLE - Driver Escapes Serious Injury

(09/01/2004)

Pick-up heavily damaged by impact

Impact moves electric pole about six inches

A Chevy pick-up truck struck a large electric pole on Millstone last night, moving its base several inches in the earth.

The truck was heavily damaged by the impact, but the driver reportedly received only minor injuries.

The impact shook some of the electric lines loose.

The truck went out of control near the Matt Ashley residence a short distance south of the Millstone intersection of Rt. 16 and US 33/119.

Following the impact the vehicle continued down a drive-way, where it came to rest.

Damage was to the rear section of the truck.

Calhoun EMS and the Arnoldsburg VFD responded.

Sgt. Doug Starcher of the State Police investigated the incident.
