BOARD HIRES NEW FOOTBALL COACH - Board Retreat Scheduled

The Board of Education met Monday evening.

Carlene Frederick reported that the Board would hold a retreat on September 7 at the Superintendent's office. Training will be conducted by Howard O'Cull, Executive Director of the West Virginia School Board's Association, covering areas of superintendent's evaluation, goal Setting and board self-evaluation.

Volunteer Agreements approved: James Bailey - Calhoun Middle/High School; Lee Evans - Calhoun Middle/High School; Paul Goodrich, Jr. - Calhoun Middle/High School; Tracy Haught - Calhoun Middle/High School; Charles Hicks - Calhoun Middle/High School; Rexell Yoak - Calhoun Middle/High School; Zachary Propst - Calhoun Middle/High School.

Student Transfers: Samuel Brady (grade 2) - from Calhoun County to Roane County; Kaylea Bennett (K) - from Calhoun County to Roane County; Jaylen Jarvis (grade 1) - from Calhoun County to Clay County; Mitchell Moore (grade 1) - from Calhoun County to Clay County; Samantha Murphy (grade 2) - from Calhoun County to Clay County.

The board approved school buildings for election use.

Home-School Requests: A motion carried with Mrs. Frederick voting no on Diane Yoak's request to home-school her daughter.
