WATER PRESSURE RISING IN RITCHIE COUNTY

(04/21/2004)
State Director Jenny Phillips today announced that Rural Development has approved a loan of $975,000 and a grant of $910,000 to the Town of Harrisville, Ritchie County, WV. The assistance will be made through the rural utilities programs.

Rural Development funds will be utilized to extend public water service to approximately 223 new customers in various unincorporated areas of Ritchie County. The project will consist of 30 miles of new waterline, two 100,000 gallon storage tanks, two booster stations, and necessary appurtenances.

"This project will help alleviate the ever-increasing demand for water supply, low pressure, and lack of fire protection in our rural communities," Phillips said.
