THURSDAY WV COVID-19 REPORT - 119 NEW CASES - Calhoun Has Two New Cases

West Virginia health officials reported two new coronavirus deaths and 119 new positive cases Thursday.

It appears that Calhoun has two new cases this week.

West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources officials reported there were 3,229 active cases. The cumulative positive test rate decreased from 5.06% to 5.05%, while the daily positive test rate increased from 1.92% to 2.26%.

As for hospitalizations, 133 patients with COVID were in the hospital, including 54 in intensive care and 18 on ventilators. Recoveries were at 156,768 on Thursday.

As for the county alert system, Lincoln, Boone, Logan and Braxton counties were gold. Nicholas, Hardy and Doddridge counties were yellow. The remaining 48 counties were green. There were no red or orange counties.

There have been 694,288 people become fully vaccinated in West Virginia.
