MESSENGER'S CHARGES REDUCED AFTER PLEA - Making Secret Recordings At GSC |
(04/21/2003) |
A former Glenville State College librarian has been fined $400 and court costs after
he was accused of secretly tape recording a fellow worker at the college. A trial was averted after Edward "Ed" Messenger entered into a plea arrangement and the charges were reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor. A campus security guard discovered a recording device above the ceiling tiles in Robert F. Kidd Library in October, 2001. Messenger was accused of recording the conversations of Eileen Dixon without her knowledge, a long-time secretary to the library. Messenger is currently the ambulance authority manager in Gilmer County.
