Gilmer authorities said the boy was killed Nov. 23 in Troy after he and his 11-year-old brother were handling a gun.

Deputies responded to a home along Highway 47 West in Troy at approximately 9 a.m. and were told that the boy had died before they arrived on scene.

The Gilmer County Sheriff says the boy was accidentally shot in the head by a rifle.
