Calhoun County, according to the WV Geological and Economic Survey, has 2,458 oil and gas wells, mostly old producers. Calhoun National Gas Production Mcf: 2014 - 3,026,879 2013 - 3,303,338 2012 - 3,594,765 2011 - 3,940,819 2010 - 3,843,714 Calhoun Oil Production Barrel: 2014 - 91,929 2013 - 98,201 2012 - 96,464 2011 - 98,770 2010 - 99,071 The leading gas producing counties were Doddridge, Harrison, Wetzel, Marshall, Tyler and Ritchie, ranging from 239,000,000 mcf in Doddridge to 39,000,000 in Ritchie County.
