CLARKSBURG - A Gilmer County man James L. Ash, 44, of Glenville has been convicted of federal drug crimes involving meth making. Ash entered a guilty plea to one count of aiding and abetting the manufacture of methamphetamine in federal court. A West Virginia State Police investigation revealed evidence of Ash's involvement in an operation to produce methamphetamine as he frequently and repeatedly purchased pseudoephedrine, a decongestant often used as a component in methamphetamine, according to a press release. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Perri prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, while U.S. Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull presided. |
