| Roy Eugene Woods, 60, of Spencer, died at 7:26 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, at home, after a sudden illness.
He was born May 16, 1951, in Kanawha County, a son of Christine Strickland Woods of Spencer and the late Joe Woods. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Edward Woods; and a nephew, Robbie Conley.
Roy was an employee of RAMCO, Hudson, OH and a 1969 graduate of Spencer High School. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his mother, survivors include sons, Roy E. Woods, II and Bon Tyler King; two grandchildren; sisters and brother, Jeannie McClain of Uneeda, Patsy Woods Steele of Seth, David Woods of Spencer, Sandra Cain of Wayne County, Lavonda Jarvis of Spencer, Nancy Woods of Morgantown, Mary Woods of Spencer and Karen Woods of Florida; many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Loren Price officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. Friends may call Sunday one hour before the funeral.
