Riders get ready to rumble

Despite all the rainfall in surrounding counties, the venue of the Appalachian Classic Mountain Bike race was rather dry and definitely sunny this past weekend! Riders from WV, OH, PA, SC, and MD descended upon the Calhoun County Park to duke it out for the last of the 2004 WV Mountain Bike Association's Point Series Races.

The results for the Saturday events are: Down Hill Expert: Jeff Wuertherele (Champion, PA) 1st place

Down Hill Beginner: Frederick Carter (Charleston WV) 1st Place

Pond Jump: Jonathan Martin, (Monongah WV) - winner

The Sunday Cross Country Race had the following winners: Clydesdale (200 lb+): Dannie Hillary of Kingwood WV

Men's Beginner: Frank Masiarczyk of Grantsville WV

Men's High School 15-18: John Lowe of Clendenin WV

Men's Jr 14 and under: Dereck Wolfe of Williamstown WV
